Augmented Reality
Artis Viewer Manipulationtool
For a pharmaceutical client in Puurs, our engineers at Caden designed a manipulation tool for horizontal pistons. The goal was to safely and efficiently handle 110 kg vertical pistons during maintenance activities. Given that setting up a lifting system at each location where a piston needs to be removed would be too costly, a mobile solution was chosen instead.
Our developers at Captis used the 3D model to create an interactive application via our Artis Viewer environment. This environment is designed to display products that have not yet been physically produced in a simple and clear manner, showcasing how they will look and function in their real environment. This application (Artis Viewer Manipulation Tool) complements the Virtis Viewer Manipulation Tool application.
With the Artis Viewer Manipulation Tool, you can demonstrate to the client how the product will appear in the environment where it will be used, without needing to create a full 3D model of the environment. This allows for easy assessment of whether the developed tool fits within the space and avoids collisions. Additionally, staff training on the tool can begin even while the actual tool is still in production. The application provides a way to show the operation of the manipulation tool in augmented reality, helping staff become familiar with its use. Users can navigate through different steps using buttons, with these steps animated for clarity. For instance, the linear slide will move up and extend to pick up the piston.
