Hat mold

The market for hat molds is very limited, both in Belgium and internationally. The supply is consequently very restricted and not very diverse. Cap’a di Carina identified this market gap and addressed it by reintroducing hat molds from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.

However, they needed new hat molds because the molds from those times are too small for today’s average head size. They contacted Captis to enlarge the old molds using software and produce new sets.

Captis developed a plan to adjust and reproduce the existing old hat molds to current sizes. We then scanned the old molds using 3D scanning technology. Based on this information, we created a 3D model that could be adjusted to the required dimensions and shapes. Finally, the sets of hat molds were delivered for production.
